John Cast – Group Director

I formed Cast Contracting Ltd in 1997. I had previously been a plumber and after the 1990 recession found myself with very little work. I had gone back to working for my father, sub-contracting to Thames Water, and mainly working within the reservoir improvement side of Thames Water. It was here that I first came into contact with waterproofing and waterproofing products. As CCL grew, it became clear that to continue to offer the level of service required in this specialist industry, I would require a team around me that I could trust. And that is what we now have. I am proud to say that as we continue to expand our order book, we have evolved into a more professional and structured business, but we always have to remember that we are a service industry and it is crucial that we deliver on all of our promises. My role in the business now is more of an overseer. I have distanced myself from the day to day running of the business, but remain within the group to help with direction, finance and strategy. My family have always been amazingly supportive over almost 20 years and I am pleased to see some of them working within the group. When I am not working, I enjoy and love a day at the races, whether it be horses or formula 1 cars.

Jamie Tschumi – Director

I joined Cast Contracting Ltd in 2001 and am proud to have worked my way up over the last 15 years to the Director level I am today. The growth in the company over these years has been nothing short of remarkable! There were only four members of staff including a part timer when I started back then, and this has risen over the years to 50 people employed across the CCL Group and is still rising. The success of the company has come about thanks to the dedication of our workforce and the reputation that we have worked hard to develop over the years within the waterproofing industry. I’m still as passionate today about the challenges Cast Contracting Ltd face, as when I first started. The types of projects we tender for are so varied that each day is different. Along with the high risk element of these jobs, comes the satisfaction that we’ve overcome and successfully completed some highly challenging projects. I have a great team around me. Outside of work, I love spending time with my young family, spending time outdoors and seeing different parts of the world on holiday. I’ve always loved high adrenalin fast actioned sports and after recently giving up motocross racing (which I have done for the last 10 years) I’m now competing in triathlons, including one in Norway this year, with a view to completing a full ironman next year. You could say I’m a bit of a thrill seeker in and out of work!

Jim Langdon – Contracts Manager

I am the Contracts Manager for CCL and have been with the company for over 12 years. I’m responsible for the running of all of the work contracts for CCL on site and ensure that all works comply with the product specification and scope of contracted work. Effective communication between the clients site team and the CCL departments is key to my role and something I strive for at all times. As a boy, I attended the Duke of York’s Royal Military School in Dover but decided against joining the Army and chose to train for a completely different professional qualification, as a Registered Nurse. I spent nearly 20 years at one of the country’s best known Special Hospital’s, where I worked as a Staff Nurse. In 2003, I was introduced to John Cast at a charity fund raising event, and the rest as they say is history. I began installing waterproofing systems for CCL and learning all about the various waterproofing systems and installation methods available, until an opportunity arose to take on the role of Contracts Manager. Outside of work I’ve been happily married for 15 years and am really proud of our two sons. I’m well known for my love of DIY and rugby and can be found pottering in my garage or found on Camper Van forums!

Adam Kong – Contracts Supervisor

I joined Cast Contracting Ltd in August 2016 as a Contracts Supervisor to assist the Contracts Manager and ensure that all works comply with the product specification and scope of contracted work. Prior to joining CCL I worked as a Soil and Structural Investigator for a Geotechnical Consultant, testing soil samples and recording foundation profiles from across the country. My previous role was as a High Street Bank Manager which gave me a good grounding in, amongst other things, customer service and budget control. The majority of my free time is spent looking after my one year old twin boys which is really rewarding but pretty full on - looking after them and keeping them entertained is a full time job in itself! When I do have a spare second, I enjoy playing music, mainly on the guitar and socialising with friends and family.

James Jannetta – Senior Estimator

I joined CCL in 2008, shortly after graduating from university with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Construction. My role at CCL includes the preparation and submission of cost quotations for potential projects, as well as offering waterproofing design input when required. Armed with a good background knowledge of construction processes, means that I am able to specify the most appropriate waterproofing systems when tendering for projects. I am a Certified Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing having gained the accreditation of C.S.S.W. In my spare time I’m a bit of a thrill seeker and enjoy throwing myself out of airplanes when the weather permits! When I’m not skydiving, I can be found on the ground cycling or in cold muddy lakes training for triathlons.

James Harvey – Estimator

I joined the CCL Group of Companies in May 2016 as an estimator for Wetrooms UK and Cast Contracting Ltd and am responsible for preparing tenders and budgets for Cast Contracting customers. The Estimator’s role also includes providing design input at the early stages of a tender and technical advice throughout the process to our customers. I left college in 2012 with a Mechanical and Electrical Engineering qualification, and spent the next three years with a commercial flooring firm who specialise in floor coverings for airports and the healthcare sectors .The valuable practical experience I gained working with customers and trades led me to move into the Estimators role at the CCL Group and I haven’t looked back! Outside of work, you can usually find me socialising with friends or on the ski slopes, where I’m a qualified ski instructor.

Lorna Tipping – Senior Contracts Administrator

I am the Senior Contracts Administrator for CCL and joined the company back in September 2007. I’m not quite sure where the time has gone! My role involves reviewing all of Cast Contracting’s orders, agreeing contracts with suppliers, making variations to contracts where applicable, credit control and invoicing. My previous jobs included working for an insolvency practice as an administrator and collecting debts owed, which was quite an eye opener! Outside of work, I’m a real animal lover and spend a lot of time walking my dogs and feeding my numerous animals! I love visiting unusual places on holiday and have had some amazing holidays recently including seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland. When I get any spare time, I love spending it with my family, pottering in my garden or going to the theatre.

Emma Holling-Dodds – Contracts Administrator

I joined Cast Contracting as the Contracts Administrator in October 2016 and am responsible for providing admin support for the Contracts team, in the form of material ordering, monthly stock takes and job costings. I also ensure that all construction accreditation documentation is kept up to date. Prior to joining CCL, I lived and worked in Northern Ireland and gained my Business Administration, Leadership & Management qualifications at NVQ level whilst working for a number of businesses in and around Omagh. I gained invaluable hands-on admin and reception experience working for an Enterprise company in Omagh which specialises in supporting local start-up businesses and entrepreneurs in the local area. I left my Irish roots in 2016 and moved to the UK with my husband. There’s nothing I like more at weekends than to catch up with friends and family over a glass or two of fizz and a takeaway. I’ve recently taken up cycling with my husband and some of our friends, and am now looking forward to summer bike rides with pubs along the route!

Sarah Methven – CCL Group Administrator

I joined the CCL Group of Companies in 2014 as an Administrator and I support the Group Business Manager and Book Keeper in various ways, including processing of the company credit cards, credit control, processing of supplier payments and looking after the company fleet of vehicles to name a few of my tasks. I also arrange the social activities for CCL and the rest of the CCL Group which are always great fun! Before joining CCL I had a variety of roles including office admin, helping to run a family welding business and as a care assistant at a college where I taught disabled students how to live independently. My longest employment was with British Airways at Heathrow where I was lucky enough to travel to New York on Concorde twice and was in the cockpit for take-off at JFK! I have 25 year old twin sons and one is a semi pro footballer, so I have spent the past 20 years of my life cheering him on in muddy fields in all weathers! 

Jo Langdon – Marketing & Communications Co-ordinator

I joined the CCL Group of Companies in 2011 as Marketing Co-ordinator and am responsible for delivering the marketing requirements for all three companies within the group, which keeps me busy! This includes website content & SEO, PR, customer newsletters and photography to name but a few. My role is a really varied one and I work with some great people. I have many years of experience in marketing having worked as the Advertising Controller for Sainsbury’s Savacentre, Communications Manager for Lichtwer Pharma, Assistant Marketing Manager for Courts and NPD Manager for MFI prior to taking time off to have a family. Outside of work I’ve been married for 15 years and spend a lot of my spare time ferrying our sons around to all of their sporting fixtures and training sessions. I love singing and performing with The Savoy Singers and painting shabby chic furniture. I keep fit as much as possible with Pilates and early morning jogging sessions. I’m also rather partial to a glass or two of Prosecco with friends!

David Stones – Business Marketing Executive

I first joined the CCL Group in September 2014 as a Sales and Marketing Executive, dealing with new enquiries, following up leads, booking CPD presentations and assisting our Key Accounts Manager where possible. I have recently been promoted to Business Marketing Executive and am enjoying my new full time role within the Marketing team, gaining valuable experience and learning a wide variety of skills. Outside of work I am a keen sportsman, cycling, playing football, golfing and playing hockey for the Basingstoke men’s 1st team. You may also catch me having a couple of beers down the local pub with mates where I like to watch my team Liverpool FC play, or I can be found working on cars and visiting car shows.
Steve-Blanchard

Steve Blanchard – Warehouse Manager

I am the Warehouse Manager for the CCL Group of Companies and have overall responsibility for the day to day logistics of running the warehouse. This includes the production of all of the metalwork requirements for the companies, storage of materials, deliveries, transport and a whole host more. I joined the company as a storeman over six years ago and on one occasion was asked to help out on site for Cast Contracting - my storeman days were effectively over! I spent the following couple of years working as part of the specialist team of contractors and installing the structural waterproofing systems out on site, before returning back to my engineering roots. I oversaw the introduction of the new metal brake press for the CCL Group and took on the manufacturing of all of the metalwork requirements in-house. The Warehouse Manager role followed. Outside of work my life revolves around my family and spending quality time with my 10 grandchildren! They keep me very busy...

Chris Walsh – Warehouse Supervisor

I joined the CCL Group in October 2013 as a warehouse operative, and was responsible for looking after the stock movements and picking and packing orders for all three companies. As the companies have expanded over the last couple of years, so has the warehouse team. The growth in sales and the introduction of bespoke metal work, means that our team has doubled in size and it’s a busy, exciting place to work. I’ve recently been promoted to Warehouse Supervisor, and am loving the extra responsibilities that the new role brings. Outside of work I enjoy spending quality time with my family, gardening and cycling.

Don Cast is a legend within his own right. Cast Senior can be found tinkering at all times of the day in the warehouse or around the CCL Group Offices. When he’s not at work (which is rare) you’ll find him in his speedos on a tropical beach somewhere! No photos allowed…
